Ancestor Reconnect  offers a service to trace your ancestors for as little as £10 an hour.  

•  An search online and a search at a library or archives costs £30 per hour.

A one hour search would be suitable for finding a single event for an ancestor e.g. birth, baptism, marriage, death, World War I or II military record or an appearance on the census or voters list.

Although it may not be always possible to find your ancestor in just one hour’s search you will receive a short report about the research done which will suggest how to proceed based on the findings.

Births registered in England and Wales (from September 1837) form the General Records Office can be ordered online for free if you have purchased a minimum of one hour research. The cost of the certificate itself will be £11*.  Certificates in Scotland (registered from 1855) will costs £12*.

A library or archives search would also include a report of research, suggestions on how to proceed further and a photocopy (where possible) of any significant records found.
