Decide which side of your family you would like tracing and the ancestor where you would like the research to begin e.g. parent or grandparent.
Give as much known information as possible about your chosen ancestor e.g. full birth name, birthdate, parents, spouses, siblings and areas where they have lived. This will all help in choosing the correct person where there are more than one with the same name.
